Following this quick guide you'll be up and running in less than 15 minutes. There are just 4 steps.

1. Install the Plugin

2. Configure your Algolia Account

If you've not already got an account with Algolia, you'll need to sign up here : . There's a 15 day unlimited trial option. That's perfect for testing out things.

Once you've got an account, get your Algolia API Credentials, add them to Search Plus via the CP settings page.

3. Pick what you want Searchable

Algolia is based around the concept of Indexes. An index can be just a section of content.

Setting up our indexes is easy. It's all done through the Craft CP, where we just need to pick the content we want searchable, and how that content is mapped to something understandable by Algolia.

4. Setup the front-end search

Great! All the content is in Algolia. Now we just need to actually expose it for the users.

Setting up the front-end search is simple too, and shouldn't take more than a few minutes. This is mostly a case of having a search input, and some javascript to trigger the actual search process.

5. Bonus! Get More Fancy With your Setup

This Quickstart covers the basic setup flow, but there's no need to stop there. Algolia enables you to have all sorts of faceted search, multiple index searches, geo-aware search, custom content mappings and so much more!

You can even search content that's completely external to Craft. As long as it's available in the index, you can work with it. The sky's the limit.
